Lasagna a La Marimar

Delicious homemade lasagna with tasty sauce. Ideal for a main course and for dinner. Full of flavor and with lots of melted cheese.

  • 250 grams ground meat, Beef
  • 250 grams ground meat, Pork
  • 2 red bell peppers, Roasted, skinless, and chopped.
  • 3 red beefsteak tomatoes, Seedless and chopped.
  • 3 cloves garlic, Mashed.
  • 1/4 cups onion, Finely chopped.
  • 1 liter canned tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 sprigs fresh basil leaf
  • 1 teaspoon oregano powder
  • 3 leaves bay
  • 1/2 cups Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 package lasagna pasta, La Moderna®
  • 2 cups Manchego cheese, And it can also be mozzarella or parmesan.

  • Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  • In a pot, sauté some garlic in olive oil, add the onion and continue sautéing until translucent. Add the tomatoes and then the peppers, a little oregano, and a few pinches of salt, and let it fry to season and cook. Once the liquid released by the tomatoes and peppers has reduced a bit, add a little more olive oil and the tomato puree. Raise the heat to medium so it continues to boil, add the bay leaf and basil and let it simmer for 5 minutes (don’t forget to stir and keep the heat low to prevent burning) Now, you can pour the sauce into a blender or use a manual one to achieve a uniform consistency, remember to remove the bay leaves, put it back on the heat, check the seasoning, and if needed, add a little salt without overdoing it.
  • In another pot, heat olive oil and the remaining garlic, add the meat, and sprinkle in the cumin. Remember to cook it on high heat, stirring continuously for even cooking. Once it looks cooked, add Worcestershire sauce, a shot of water, and a little salt, the meat should be juicy but not too soupy.
  • Assembling the lasagna is very easy: Grease a baking dish and start with a layer of pasta (to make the pasta delicious, each piece is dipped in sauce first), a layer of meat, sauce, and cheese, and repeat until finishing with a layer of pasta, sauce, and lots of cheese.
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 150 degrees and it's ready.
