The classic Caprese salad, but in a delicious pizza. This recipe features ingredients from the Mediterranean diet, which provide a delightful flavor. It’s a simple pizza that includes mozzarella cheese, tomato, basil, and a touch of oregano.
Grease and flour our pizza pan, and place our dough in it, spreading it well and pricking it a bit so it doesn’t puff up too much.
To our 1/2 cup of tomato puree, we add 6 tablespoons of olive oil, mix well, spread it over our dough, then sprinkle some oregano on top; it gives a delicious flavor! Bake this for about 30 minutes until the crust is golden, you know.
In the meantime, while our crust is baking, slice the tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, disinfect our basil, finely chop our two cloves of garlic and place them in a small saucepan or baking dish, adding about 15 tablespoons of olive oil and letting it rest.
Once our crust is ready, place a slice of tomato along with a slice of mozzarella and a basil leaf! I like it with a lot of basil, but it’s a matter of personal taste. When everything is done, sprinkle a little ground pepper, salt, and our garlic and olive oil mixture! And if you like, a bit of balsamic vinegar, and it turns out uuummmmm delicious.
I hope you enjoy it.
