Add the precooked lentils, the egg, the onion, the garlic, the salt, the ground black pepper, the parsley leaves, the dried red chili, the ground cumin, and half of the breadcrumbs into a food processor. Grind and check that the texture of the mixture is homogeneous enough to form the vegetarian patties.
If the mixture is too sticky, add the second half of the breadcrumbs and process again until the mixture does not stick to your hands.
Form the lentil patties and brown them on both sides in a non-stick skillet with a splash of oil.
Serve the patties and accompany with a fresh salad.
