Mushroom Mixiotes with Mole

This mushroom mixiote with mole recipe is a real delight, with an incredible flavor and lots of vegetables, you can't miss it!

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 500 grams mushrooms
  • 1 cup vegetable background
  • 1 package Doña María® Mole Ready to Serve, presentation of 360 g
  • salt
  • 3 hojas santas, in halves
  • 3 avocado leaves
  • water
  • 1 cup nopal salad, in short strips

  • Heat the oil in a pan, add the mushrooms, and cook for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Pour Doña María® Ready-to-Serve Mole and vegetable broth into a blender, blend until obtaining a homogeneous mixture, and add over the mushrooms. If necessary, add a little salt and cook for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Lay out 1 sheet of aluminum foil and place a piece of parchment paper on top. Place 2 to 3 tablespoons of the mixture, making sure not to overfill, add half a hoja santa and half an avocado leaf. Close the mixiote with hemp string. Repeat this process until finishing with the mixture and leaves.
  • Pour water into a steamer and heat until boiling. Then, add the already closed mixiotes, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Serve the mushroom mixiote with mole and accompany with the nopal salad.
