Mac & Cheese with Bacon and Broccoli

Among pasta recipes for kids, mac & cheese is one of their favorites. Fortunately, the dish is super easy to make and is very practical for any day of the week. This version includes broccoli and bacon, making it a more complete dish, ideal for sharing with the family.

  • 200 grams Fud® chopped bacon
  • 1/2 cups white onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1/4 cups cow's milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups Fud® Manchego cheese, grated
  • 1 cup American cheese, grated
  • 3 cups elbow pasta, cooked
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 cups broccoli, cut into very small florets and blanched

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the chopped FUD® bacon until golden; reserve some for later.
  • Add the onion and garlic to the skillet, cook for a few minutes, and incorporate the heavy cream, milk, and butter. Season with white pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, mix, and cook until it comes to a boil.
  • Add the FUD® manchego cheese and yellow cheese until melted. Add the elbow macaroni, season with salt, cook until thickened, and add the broccoli and a bit more cheese for gratin.
  • Sprinkle with the bacon you reserved earlier and serve immediately.
