Parmesan Lasagna with Nuts

Appetizing lasagna gratinated with parmesan and mozzarella cheese, the special touch of this recipe is the tempting flavor of a combination of crunchy nuts, giving it a smooth taste to make it a very original and different dish.   • 4 cups water
  • 10 lasagna sheets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups leek, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 kilo ground beef
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, toasted and chopped
  • 1/2 cups cashews, toasted and chopped
  • 1/2 cups almonds, toasted and chopped
  • 1/2 cups walnuts, toasted and chopped
  • 1/4 cups pine nuts, toasted
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 400 grams Hunt´S® tomato sauce for pasta
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 leaf bay
  • 3 cups Mozzarella cheese, sliced into 1 cm
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cups nut mix, toasted for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  • Heat a small pot with water until it reaches a boiling point. Cook the lasagna sheets according to the package instructions.
  • Heat a deep pan over medium heat, add butter, garlic, leek, celery, and white onion until they take on a shiny and transparent color. Add the ground beef and cook until it changes color.
  • Add the nuts, spinach, and Hunts® Traditional Pasta Sauce. Cook until it reduces a bit, season with salt, nutmeg, pepper, and bay leaf, and cook for 5 more minutes until the aromas are released. Set aside.
  • Place a layer of lasagna sheets in a previously greased baking dish. Add some of the filling and cover with mozzarella cheese. Repeat until the mold is full and finish with parmesan cheese and nuts. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is perfectly gratinated. Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.
