Caesar Salad with Pasta and Tuna

This recipe is perfect for Lent season, as it is a delicious Caesar salad with La Moderna® Tornillo pasta and tuna, light and perfect for lunch or dinner. Learn to make the traditional Caesar dressing from scratch. It's very easy!

  • 1 baguette, cut into cubes, for the croutons

  • 1 cup canned tuna, drained
  • 1/8 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cups celery, finely chopped

  • 1 1/2 cups Romaine lettuce, in medium pieces

  • In a pot, boil water and when it reaches a boil, add salt, wait for it to return to temperature and add La Moderna® Tornillo pasta. Cook for 9 to 11 minutes, drain, let cool, add a tablespoon of olive oil, and set aside.
  • For the Caesar dressing, mix in a bowl the egg yolk, anchovies, garlic, mustard, and lemon juice, then slowly drizzle in the olive oil, until emulsified and achieving a dressing consistency. Season with salt and pepper.
  • For the croutons, in a bowl mix the bread cubes with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, and paprika. Place on a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes at 180°C or until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

  • In a bowl, mix the tuna with onion, celery, cilantro, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until combined.
  • In a bowl mix La Moderna® Tornillo pasta, tuna, lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing.
