Chilean Tomato and Onion Salad

Super easy and delicious tomato and onion salad.

  • 6 tomatoes 6 tomatoes
  • 2 onions 2 onions
  • 2 limes 2 limes
  • 6 tablespoons coarse salt

  • Slice the onions thinly.
  • Place them in a colander with salt under a stream of water. Squeeze the salt out while the water runs over them. This is what softens both the flavor and texture of the onion.
  • Let them drain for a few minutes.
  • Slice the tomatoes into thin slices.
  • Serve the tomatoes on a platter with the onions on top and drizzle a little lime juice over them.
