Pear and Spinach Salad

A fresh and refreshing salad with a sweet touch. It is ideal for pairing with chicken dishes. It has several handcrafted ingredients, but they can also be bought.

  • 1/4 cups walnuts, chopped
  • 1 slice bread, cubed rye
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3 pears, ripe, firm
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice, fresh
  • 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoons black pepper, freshly ground
  • 60 grams blue cheese, crumbled

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Arrange the walnuts, bread, rosemary, garlic, and oil on a baking sheet; mix well and toast until fragrant for 5 to 6 minutes. Let cool.
  • Cut the pears in half, remove the core, and slice. Place in a small bowl and drizzle with a tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix well.
  • In a small bowl, mix the remaining juice, cream, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and half of the cheese.
  • Arrange the spinach on the plates and top with the pears, sprinkle with the remaining cheese and the walnut mixture.
  • Drizzle with the dressing and serve.
