Arrabiata Sauce

Arrabiata sauce is a version of the classic marinara sauce with a spicy kick. This sauce can be used for pasta, fish, seafood, chicken, and meats.

  • 2 cups sun-dried tomatoes, chopped or whole
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 tablespoons peperoncino, or red chili
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tomato purée
  • 2 tablespoons basil
  • 1/2 tablespoons salt

  • In a medium pot, heat the oil over medium heat and sauté the onions, chili, and garlic for 5 minutes. Stir the mixture with a spoon to prevent burning.
  • Add the tomatoes and their juice, tomato puree, basil, and spices. Continue cooking until the sauce comes to a boil.
