Bolognese Sauce

This recipe for sauce with ground beef and tomato paste is perfect for pairing with noodles or pasta.

  • 500 grams ground meat
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cups white onion, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups bell pepper, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups carrot, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups tomato paste
  • 1 tomatillo, cut into squares
  • 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper

  • Melt the butter in a pot and sauté the meat for 5 minutes or until it changes color, then add the onion, bell pepper, carrot, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Add the tomato paste and water, bring to a boil and incorporate the tomato, broth, salt, and spices. Let it boil for 10 minutes.
