Red Salsa in Molcajete

A recipe for the classic Mexican red salsa but this time made in a molcajete. The molcajete gives the salsa a different flavor. It tastes delicious!

  • 4 tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 2 serrano chiles
  • 1 cup ale beer

  • In a skillet, add the tomatoes. After 5-10 minutes, add the garlic cloves, chiles, and the onion (cut in half). Let them cook.
  • Once everything is cooked, add the beer and let it reduce over low heat.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. In a molcajete, make the salsa. Remember to scrape well with the edges of the molcajete to get the flavor from the stone.
