Traditional mayonnaise

The traditional mayonnaise recipe. Go ahead and prepare it; it’s easier to make than you think, and you’ll have delicious homemade mayonnaise.

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar, or lemon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 3/4 cups vegetable oil

  • Put the eggs in the blender or food processor and beat until they turn white.
  • Add the vinegar, salt, mustard, and beat for a few more seconds.
  • Slowly add half of the oil until it thickens. Stop the blender and stir the mixture with a spoon.
  • Turn the blender on again and add the rest of the oil.
  • It should yield about 2 1/2 cups of mayonnaise.
