2 tablespoons butter
1 cup cow's milk, at room temperature
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch salt

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the flour to the butter and mix with a whisk for 1 minute.
Continue mixing and gradually pour in the milk. Make sure to keep mixing to avoid lumps.
Increase the heat to medium and continue cooking and mixing until the sauce has thickened and starts to boil.
Lower the heat and cook for 5 more minutes while continuing to mix.
Remove from heat and add salt and nutmeg.
