Bowl of Beans

A bowl of beans is an ideal snack for a Mexican party or a day when you don't want to spend much time in the kitchen.

  • 1 onion, medium
  • 1 liter pinto beans
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lard
  • salt, necessary amount
  • oaxaca cheese, to taste
  • 1 bag tortilla chips

  • Blend the beans and set aside.
  • Chop the onion very finely and sauté in hot lard; when the onion is translucent, add a little salt and the blended beans.
  • Place the cheese in a clay bowl, sprinkle a little cheese on top, and bake for 5 minutes until it is melted.
  • Serve accompanied by tortilla chips.
