Chickpeas with Swiss Chard

This recipe is perfect for your daily menu, you can prepare it in no time and the combination of chickpeas with Swiss chard is very tasty.

  • 300 grams chickpeas legumes La Asturiana®
  • 750 grams chard
  • 750 grams tomato
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • The night before, we soak the chickpeas in warm water with a teaspoon of salt.
  • The next day we rinse them under running water before cooking.
  • We cook the chickpeas with chopped and cleaned Swiss chard and a little salt in boiling water.
  • While they are cooking, we prepare a sofrito with the garlic and tomato, to which we add the bread crumbs and paprika.
  • We blend this refrito with a blender.
  • Once the chickpeas are tender, we remove some of the cooking broth.
  • We add the sofrito to the chickpeas with the Swiss chard, adjust the salt, and let it cook for about 15 more minutes.
