Mashed Potatoes with Caramelized Onions

A creamy mashed potato dish topped with caramelized onions. An excellent side for meat or turkey.

  • 1 kilo potato
  • 1 cup cow's milk
  • 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • On a baking sheet, place the sliced onions marinated with olive oil. Bake for 45 minutes or until caramelized.
  • On another baking sheet, place the potatoes covered with aluminum foil, making holes with a fork to cook them faster. Cook for approximately 1 hour or until tender.
  • In a pot, heat the milk, butter, salt, and pepper over medium heat.
  • When the potatoes are ready, remove them from the oven and peel their skin with a knife. Add the peeled potatoes, cut into cubes, to the pot with milk and mash with a fork until rustic.
  • To serve, place the mashed potatoes on a platter and top with the caramelized onions for decoration and flavor enhancement.
