Gratinated Potatoes

Surprise everyone with this wonderful recipe for gratin potatoes; besides being delicious, it's economical and very easy to make!

  • 6 potatoes, medium
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can whipping cream, (small)
  • 6 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

  • Cook the potatoes until soft. Remove, drain, and slice.
  • Grease a medium baking dish with butter and use 1/2 teaspoon of the garlic sauce to coat the bottom and sides of the dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter and the remaining garlic sauce. Set aside. Preheat the oven to 350º.
  • Season the cream with salt and pepper to taste. Place a layer of potatoes in the dish, pour a bit of butter and cream.
  • Continue layering until you finish with a layer of cream. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and place in the preheated oven until the cheese is golden.
