Hash Brown Potatoes

  • 1/8 teaspoons white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 3 potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 white onions

  • Peel the potatoes and grate them.
  • Place the grated potatoes on an absorbent towel and press to remove all the moisture (It is necessary to remove all moisture to achieve a nice golden color).
  • Finely chop the onion.
  • In a bowl, mix the onion with the grated potatoes, add garlic salt and white pepper.
  • In a skillet, place the butter and oil, add the onion, and heat over high for a couple of minutes.
  • Add the grated potatoes and press down with a spatula. Lower the heat to medium and continue cooking for 7 minutes, pressing occasionally with the spatula on both sides.
