Potatoes are the perfect side dish to accompany almost any meal. The potato gratin recipe is phenomenal, with potatoes, Gruyere cheese, thyme, and thin slices of bacon, making it a spectacular dish, in addition to being a very simple recipe to cook.
Melt the butter in a skillet. Add the flour to form a paste, then incorporate the milk and whisk with a balloon whisk to prevent lumps. Season with spices and salt.
In a baking dish, layer some potatoes, add sauce, and sprinkle a bit of cheese. Repeat this step with the remaining ingredients. The last layer should be sauce.
Bake at 180° C for 20 minutes or until the sauce is golden.
