Rice with Milk and Rompope

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 1/4 liters cow's milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup rompope

  • Wash the rice, place it in a container with hot water, and let it soak for 15 minutes. Drain it and cook it in two cups of water over very low heat so it doesn't break apart.
  • When it is cooked, add the milk, sugar, and rompope; mix gently. Cook over low heat until it thickens; stir frequently but carefully to avoid beating it.
  • Remove from heat, let cool to room temperature, and serve.
