Oriental Rice with Shrimp

Rice is a staple food for more than half of humanity. Thousands of varieties are grown worldwide. This is for a good reason: it is a healthy and nutritious food.

  • 1 1/2 cups rice
  • 6 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 3 carrots, finely chopped
  • 4 zucchinis, finely chopped
  • 1/2 onions, finely chopped
  • 300 grams shrimp, without head
  • 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cube vegetable consommé
  • pinches ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cups soy sauce

  • Clean the rice and place it in a colander, wash under running water twice. Place in a bowl and soak in warm water for 5 minutes. Drain over a colander and transfer to the Express Pressure Cooker®.
  • Place 1 1/2 cups of water and the prepared rice in the Express Pressure Cooker®. Close the Express Pressure Cooker® and put on the pressure regulator, place it on the stove over high heat for about 25 minutes or until a constant steam comes out, lower the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the Express Pressure Cooker® from the heat, let it cool, remove the pressure regulator, open the Express Pressure Cooker® and it’s done!
  • While the rice is ready, heat the oil in a large pot and fry the Chef's suggestion This recipe provides all the necessary nutrients, making it very healthy. You can substitute the shrimp for any seafood, chicken, or beef in small pieces. Preparation carrots, zucchini, onion, and shrimp, in that order. When they are half-fried, add the sugar, the vegetable seasoning, and the pepper.
  • Add the fried vegetables and the soy sauce. Mix and adjust the seasoning.
  • Cover the pot and let it rest for 5 minutes. Uncover and transfer to another container to allow air in and separate the grains of rice. Heat to serve.
