Sauerkraut

This recipe is a German dish, also known as sauerkraut, used to accompany different pork dishes, like sausages, so it accompanies the sauerkraut.

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 onions, finely sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, squeezed
  • 1 red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 potato , peeled and grated with a mandoline
  • 1 apple, peeled and grated with a mandoline
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cups white vinegar

  • Melt the butter in a pan and cook the onion. After a couple of minutes, add the garlic, cook for one minute. Add the cabbage and stir well. Add salt and pepper.
  • Add the potato to the pan and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, add the apple. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Put the water and vinegar in the pan and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
