Creamy Stuffed Chayotes with Ham

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Heat a pot with water and salt over medium heat, cook the chayotes for 15 minutes, when they are tender, remove from heat, cool and set aside.
  • Place the chayotes on a cutting board and use a spoon to hollow out the center of the chayote, reserving the pulp.
  • In a bowl, mix the ham with the chayote pulp, cream, half of the cheese, and season with salt and pepper. Fill the chayotes with this mixture.
  • Place them in a baking dish, add the remaining grated cheese, and place a cube of butter on each chayote. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is golden and the butter is melted.
  • Serve hot.
