Trim the ends of the green beans. Boil water in a large pot and cook the green beans for just 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse and set aside.
Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat, add onion and garlic, and stir until the onion is translucent, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Add tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes, then add the green beans and mix. Add a tablespoon of water and cover for one minute, season, and serve immediately.
