Artichoke Cream

  • 1 liter water
  • 4 artichoke
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons wheat flour
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons granulated chicken bouillon

  • Boil the water and add the artichokes; cook for 20 minutes or until the leaves come off easily.
  • Remove from heat and drain.
  • Remove the outer leaves from each artichoke, and with scissors, cut off the tips where the thorns are; set aside.
  • Heat the butter.
  • Fry the onion with the garlic, add the artichokes and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Blend the Evaporated Milk with the artichokes, the remaining water, the flour, and the Chicken Bouillon cubes.
  • Strain and return to the heat.
  • Continue cooking for 15 more minutes or until it thickens slightly.
  • Remove from heat and serve.
