Portobello and Almond Cream

This delicious portobello and almond cream will delight you; it’s perfect to serve as a starter for that special dinner. It is easy to prepare and has a lot of flavor, as the mushrooms and almonds complement each other perfectly.

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 portobello mushrooms
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cups Great Value® almonds, peeled and toasted
  • 1/4 cups white wine
  • 1 teaspoon Great Value® plain salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add two tablespoons of butter, the onion, the garlic, the portobello mushrooms, and add the chicken broth and let it cool.
  • In a blender, pour the previous mixture, add the cream, the almonds, and season with salt and pepper; blend until you have a smooth and creamy mixture.
  • In a saucepan, heat the 2 tablespoons of butter and pour in the cream, cook for 5 minutes, and add the white wine; cook for 3 more minutes.
