Tomato Cream with Basil

  • 5 teaspoons Knorr® granulated chicken bouillon
  • 8 tomatoes, seedless
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cups onion, cut into medium cubes
  • 1/2 cups basil, washed, disinfected, and without stems
  • 6 teaspoons Spring Margarine Chantilly® unsalted
  • 1 3/4 cups low-fat milk
  • 2 tablespoons Maizena® cornstarch
  • 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon chives, disinfected and finely chopped

  • In a pot over medium heat, melt the Margarina Primavera Chantilly® Without Salt and sauté the garlic and onion until they are slightly golden. Add the tomato and cook for a few minutes until it softens a bit.
  • Remove from heat and blend well with the milk. Strain and return to the pot over medium-low heat, cooking for 5 minutes. Add and incorporate the teaspoons of Knorr® Suiza Chicken Broth.
  • Dissolve the Maizena® Regular Cornstarch in the water and pour it into the cream. Mix well and let it boil to thicken. Remove from heat and serve hot. Garnish with the scallions.
