Easy Feijoada

This dish is an iconic preparation of Brazil, its main ingredients are black beans and a variety of meats, but these and their preparation vary in each region, as it adapts to the different households and availability of ingredients in each locality; one could draw an analogy to pozole in Mexico, which is as variable as the diversity of regions where it is prepared.

  • water
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 onions, large
  • 1/4 kilos pork ribs
  • 1/4 kilos pork
  • 1/4 kilos beef
  • 1 kilo pig feet
  • 1/2 kilos black beans, previously cooked with broth.
  • 1 leaf bay
  • white rice
  • tomato, diced, without seeds
  • chives, tail, chopped
  • white onion, finely chopped

  • Cook the beans in a pressure cooker for 45 minutes and set aside.
  • Cook the meats in a pot with boiling water, garlic, and onion for approximately 1.5 hours.
  • Heat a pot over medium heat, pour in lard, and add the meat, ribs, pork, beef, and pork leg, frying for 5 minutes.
  • Add the beans with broth and the bay leaves, cook for 20 minutes over medium-low heat.
  • Serve the feijoada with rice, diced tomato, chopped green onion, and white onion.
