Mulata Soup

Rich mulatto chickpea soup with nopales with a spicy touch.

  • 200 grams chickpeas
  • 5 pasilla chiles, soaked and deveined
  • 1/2 onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 400 grams nopal, chopped and cooked
  • 1 sprig fresh cilantro, chopped

  • One night before cooking, soak the chickpeas in cold water.
  • The next day, cook with salt and remove the pellejitos that are released.
  • To grind four spoonfuls of chickpeas with half a liter of the water in which they were cooked, along with the chilies, the onion and the garlic.
  • Roast this mixture before and when it is thick, add the boiled nopales, whole chickpeas and cilantro.
