Baked Macaroni and Cheese

The best macaroni and cheese you will ever taste! It's made with a white sauce flavored with mustard, nutmeg, and baked with cheddar cheese, gruyere cheese, and parmesan cheese. It’s so creamy and delicious that you won’t be able to stop eating.

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cups butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups white onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup table cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 3 cups elbow pasta, precooked in water with butter and salt
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Heat a small pot over medium heat with the oil, add the butter, onion, and garlic, and cook for 5 minutes. Add the flour and stir until it turns golden, then add the milk, half-and-half, Dijon mustard, nutmeg, and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Add the macaroni with half of the cheeses, cook for 5 minutes until thickened, serve the macaroni in a deep oven-safe dish, and cover with the remaining cheeses.
  • Bake for 10 minutes to allow the cheeses to gratin.
  • Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.
