1 kilo octopus, in 2.5 cm pieces
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup carrot, chopped
2 cups celery, chopped
2 potatoes, diced
1/2 cups pasilla chile, dry and crushed
1/2 cups onion, chopped or to taste
1 cup tomato, chopped
650 grams shrimp, raw (unpeeled)
1 cup ears corn, fresh (optional)

Boil water in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add the octopus and let it continue boiling for 20 minutes.
While the octopus cooks, heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the carrots, celery, potatoes, and pasilla pepper.
Fry for 15 minutes and add the onion and tomato near the end.
The ingredients do not need to be fully cooked.
Once the octopus has boiled for 20 minutes, add the shrimp and let boil for 5 minutes.
Add the skillet vegetables and season with salt to your taste.
If you decide to use corn, add it to the pot along with the shrimp.
Simmer all the ingredients for 15 minutes.
