2 liters water
1 kilo octopus, in pieces of 2.5 cm
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup carrot, chopped
2 cups celery, chopped
2 potatoes, cut in cubes
1/2 cups pasilla chile, dry and crushed
1/2 cups onion, chopped or to taste
1 cup tomato, chopped
650 grams shrimp, raw (unpeeled)
1 cup ears corn, fresh (optional)

Boil the water in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add the octopus and let it continue boiling for 20 minutes.
While
the octopus
is
cooking
, heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the carrots, celery, potatoes and chile pasilla.
Fry for 15 minutes and add the onion and tomato almost at the end.
The ingredients do not need to be fully cooked.
Once the octopus has boiled for 20 minutes, add the shrimp and boil for 5 minutes.
Add the vegetables in the pan and season with salt to your liking.
If you decide to use the corn, add to the pot along with the shrimp.
Cook all ingredients over low heat for 15 minutes.
