Green Shrimp Broth

A shrimp broth different from what you've tried. The base is made with green tomatoes, which gives it a rich and unique flavor. You will never imagine how good shrimp broth tastes this way. It will be your favorite.

  • 1/2 kilos shrimp
  • 6 tomatillos
  • 1/2 onions
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 cube dry chicken broth or bouillon
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 liters water
  • 2 guajillo chiles, serrano chili and árbol chili

  • Finely chop and sauté the onion and garlic. Peel the tomatoes and roast them a bit, then wash and completely peel the shrimp.
  • Boil the guajillo chiles until softened and blend them with very little water along with the tomatoes, garlic, and onion.
  • Strain and pour into a pot, add 2 liters of water or as much as you consider necessary, bring to a boil over medium heat, add chicken broth powder, salt, and pepper if deemed necessary.
  • Finally, add the shrimp and reduce the heat, let it simmer until they change color.
