How to bake a perfect cake

Many times when baking cakes, we have problems because they turn out dry or sink in the center. There are many possibilities for things to go wrong, but with this list of tips, you will learn to bake a perfect cake every time.

Step by Step

1
When baking cakes in glass pans instead of metal pans, the heat is distributed differently; if you use glass, decrease the temperature by 5°C.
2
Preheat the oven when you start preparing the cake batter, allowing it to reach the exact temperature; this takes between 20 and 30 minutes.
3
Fatty ingredients, eggs, and liquids should be used at room temperature, as cold ingredients could cause the mixture to curdle.
4
When you beat butter and sugar, make sure they are well mixed; beat for at least 5 minutes before adding more ingredients. This way, you will achieve a lighter and fluffier cake.
5
Measure the ingredients correctly.
6
If the recipe says to sift the ingredients, do it; otherwise, the dry ingredients may not mix properly.
7
Fill the pan to 2/3 of its capacity.
8
If you are baking several cakes at the same time, do not place them too closely together, as they may bake unevenly.
9
Avoid opening the oven during the cake cooking process.
