Café de Olla

A typical Mexican coffee sweetened with piloncillo, this quick version will be your best ally at gatherings.

  • 8 cups water
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 piloncillos
  • 2 cubes cinnamon
  • 1 cup coffee, ground

  • Put 8 cups of water in a pot with the sugar, piloncillo, and cinnamon until all the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the coffee to the pot, close it, and boil for 5 minutes.
  • Serve in jars, straining the coffee and removing the coffee grounds and cinnamon.
  • If desired, add a piece of fresh cinnamon for decoration to each jar.
