Bacon and Cheese Rolls

These bacon and cheese rolls are an excellent option for breakfast if you're craving a savory and hearty bread. The best part about these savory rolls is that they contain all food groups and are very practical to transport anywhere. They turn out delicious!

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 grams dry yeast
  • 1/4 cups milk
  • 3 San Juan® eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 cups bacon, fried, soft
  • 1 cup Manchego cheese, sliced
  • San Juan® egg, for brushing
  • coarse salt, for decoration

  • For the dough, mix the flour with the sugar, salt, and dry yeast; incorporate the milk and Huevo San Juan®; finally, gradually add the butter until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous dough. Let it rest in a greased and covered bowl for 30 minutes, until it doubles in size.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out; evenly distribute the cheese and bacon, roll it up, and brush with Huevo San Juan®.
  • Chill the roll for 1 hour; then, cut thick slices and arrange them in a baking dish, brush with Huevo San Juan® and sprinkle with a bit of coarse salt; bake for 30 minutes at 180 °C, or until golden.
  • Serve hot and enjoy.
