Date and Nut Bread

  • 100 grams sugar
  • 60 grams butter
  • 170 grams dates, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 250 grams whole-wheat flour

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease a rectangular pan measuring 21 cm long by 12 cm wide by 7 cm high and line it with parchment paper. Heat the milk with sugar and add butter; once it dissolves, remove from heat, add dates, and let it cool slightly.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the milk mixture, egg, and nuts. Stir until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 35-45 minutes. Let cool before slicing.
