Tamales with Red Fruits

This recipe is delicious because they are not only sweet, but they will also have a lot of flavor with the red fruits that are in the filling.

  • 100 grams strawberry jam, (filling)

  • 100 grams raspberries, (filling)
  • 100 grams cranberries, (filling)
  • 300 grams butter, (dough)
  • 500 grams masa harina, sifted (dough)
  • 1/2 cups cinnamon infusion, (dough)
  • 1/2 cups water, (dough)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder, (dough)
  • red food coloring, to taste (dough)
  • sugar, to taste (dough)
  • 1 package corn husk, for tamal soaked (dough)

  • Mix all the filling ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
  • In a mixer, add the butter and beat until fluffy. When it is white, add the flour and beat a little more. Gradually add the cinnamon infusion, the remaining flour, and the water while continuing to beat.
  • Combine the baking powder and sugar, beat until completely mixed.
  • Carefully spread the dough over the leaves, using the back of a spoon to extend the dough, and put a bit of filling in the center.
  • Fold each end of the leaf inward and finally fold the tip.
  • In a steamer, arrange tamale leaves at the bottom and place the tamales you made inside. Leave them in for about an hour and a half or check the tamales until the leaf easily peels away.
