Recipe for sweet tamales with raisins made at home. These tamales are traditional in Mexican cuisine, a perfect treat to enjoy with a rich cup of atole. You can eat them for breakfast or dinner.
Boil half a teaspoon of anise in half a cup of water. Strain and mix with the flour, baking powder, half a teaspoon of salt, sugar, and milk, until a dough forms.
Beat the shortening until it is white and fluffy; then add the dough, the condensed milk, and, if necessary, a little more milk.
Beat until a small ball of dough floats in a cup of water.
Take portions of this dough and wrap them in the leaves that have already been soaked and drained.
Add several raisins and steam for 1 hour until they come off the leaf.
