Spicy chicken empanadas are the perfect appetizer for a meal with friends or family. They are delicious puff pastries filled with tasty spicy chicken, they are very flavorful!
1 1/2 cups tomato purée, with Del Fuerte® Chilpotle
2 cups chicken breast, cooked and shredded
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
5 tablespoons wheat flour
500 grams puff pastry
1 cup Manchego cheese, shredded
1 egg
3 ladles sesame seeds

Preheat the oven to 200° C.
In a medium skillet, heat the oil over medium heat, sauté the garlic and onion for 1 minute. Add the Del Fuerte® Tomato Puree with Chilpotle, the chicken, and cook for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Sprinkle flour on the table and roll out the puff pastry to 1cm thick. Cut the dough with a round cookie cutter (medium) to form the empanadas. Fill with chicken, add a bit of cheese, brush the edges with beaten egg, close the empanada, and place them on a baking tray. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
