Meatballs in Morita Sauce

Meatballs are a classic of homemade Mexican cuisine, typically prepared in tomato broth, but this time you can easily cook this recipe and give a twist to this delicious dish. The morita sauce has an exquisite flavor that pairs very well with them.

  • 500 grams ground meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cups rice, stewed
  • 1/4 cups white onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 4 tomatoes, boiled
  • 3 morita chiles, soaked and seedless
  • 1 cube Knorr Tomate® tomato bouillon
  • 1/4 white onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil

  • Combine the meat with the egg, rice, onion, cilantro, and pepper. Form the meatballs with this mixture and cook them with enough water.
  • Blend the tomato, morita chili, Knorr Tomato® Tomato Seasoning cube, onion, garlic, and water.
  • Heat the oil and fry the sauce; bring it to a boil and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 3 more minutes. Serve.
