Grease and flour a cake pan and cover it with cajeta; set aside.
Make a caramel with the sugar by placing it in a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly to prevent sticking or burning. At first, it takes time, but once it starts melting, the rest happens almost immediately.
For the flan, blend the Vanilla Flavored Danette® Custard with the remaining ingredients: milk, eggs, custard, and vanilla. Pour it slowly into the cake pan, placing the caramel first.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour (cake mix box) with the remaining ingredients: egg, cajeta, oil, nuts, and milk until well combined; pour carefully into the mold. Cover it with aluminum foil. Bake in a water bath for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Remove from the oven, let it cool completely, unmold, and refrigerate for 2 hours, and it's ready.
