Impossible Cake Danette

A favorite of many! Prepare this impossible cake recipe made with Vanilla Flavored Danette® Custard.

  • 250 milliliters cajeta
  • 260 grams chocolate cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 milliliters vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 50 grams walnuts, chopped
  • 4 vanilla flavored custard, danette 100g each
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • Grease and flour a cake pan and cover it with cajeta; set aside.
  • Make a caramel with the sugar by placing it in a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly to prevent sticking or burning. At first, it takes time, but once it starts melting, the rest happens almost immediately.
  • For the flan, blend the Vanilla Flavored Danette® Custard with the remaining ingredients: milk, eggs, custard, and vanilla. Pour it slowly into the cake pan, placing the caramel first.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour (cake mix box) with the remaining ingredients: egg, cajeta, oil, nuts, and milk until well combined; pour carefully into the mold. Cover it with aluminum foil. Bake in a water bath for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven, let it cool completely, unmold, and refrigerate for 2 hours, and it's ready.
