Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

This chocolate pound cake recipe is very easy to prepare and turns out delicious. It contains chocolate chips, which add a very nice extra touch. I recommend serving it with vanilla ice cream.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cups cocoa, powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cups sour cream, also known as sour cream
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, equivalent to 220 grams
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, large
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius (325F).
  • Grease a 14-cup pound cake pan.
  • Mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, mix the milk and cream.
  • Cream the butter and sugar with a mixer until fluffy and light yellow in color.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, and then the vanilla. Reduce the mixer speed to low, and add the flour mixture in 3 parts, alternating with the milk (previously mixed with the cream).
  • Add the chocolate chips and stir well. Pour the mixture into the greased pound cake pan and bake for 55-60 minutes.
  • Let cool on a rack and unmold.
  • Dust with powdered sugar for decoration.
