Dark Chocolate Skulls

A typical Mexican dessert to celebrate this Day of the Dead, dark chocolate skulls are the main element to adorn the altar of the dead.

  • 500 grams dark chocolate
  • 2 egg whites
  • 4 cups icing sugar
  • food coloring

  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  • Pour the chocolate into the skull mold and let it dry (you can put it in the refrigerator to cool faster).
  • Use a plastic bag to make the piping bags.
  • Whip the egg whites and add the powdered sugar until a dough forms.
  • Divide the mixture into different piping bags and add a teaspoon of coloring to each bag to have many colors.
  • Decorate the skulls by making leaves and a flower on the head and adding sequins for the eyes.
