Donut Glaze: Maple with Bacon

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, in cubes
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cups Karo® Maple
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • donuts, fried and unglazed

  • Fry the bacon in its own fat in a hot skillet over low heat; once it is golden brown, drain on paper towels. Cut into small cubes on a cutting board. Set aside until use.
  • In a small pot, melt the butter over low heat, add the condensed milk, vanilla essence, and Karo® Maple. Whisk with a balloon whisk until combined, then add the baking soda while continuing to whisk, as the reaction will cause the mixture to rise. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Place the donut on a rack and coat with the glaze; sprinkle with the fried bacon. Repeat until all donuts are finished. Let dry and enjoy.
