Maizena® Flan

  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Maizena® cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 cups low-fat milk
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 4 eggs
  • 90 grams cream cheese

  • Heat a non-stick skillet and melt ¼ cup of sugar (without stirring) until it forms a light caramel. Carefully pour it into a 20 cm diameter glass baking dish.
  • Dissolve Maizena® Corn Starch in ½ cup of cold milk.
  • Boil the rest of the milk and pour in the previously dissolved Maizena®, letting it cook until thickened.
  • Once the previous mixture has cooled, blend it with the remaining sugar, vanilla, egg, and cream cheese.
  • Pour the mixture into the container with the caramel and cover well with aluminum foil. Cook in a water bath in a pressure cooker for 45 minutes after the valve sounds.
