Fried Milk with Cinnamon

Prepare a delicious recipe for fried milk. This dish is typical Spanish and everyone loves it.

  • 1/2 liters cow's milk
  • 1 sprig cinnamon
  • 1 lime, or orange
  • cornstarch, the necessary amount to thicken
  • sugar, the necessary amount to thicken
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • flour, for breading
  • 1 egg

  • Bring the milk, except for one cup, to a boil with the lemon (orange) peel and the cinnamon stick.
  • Mix the cornstarch with the sugar, add the cold milk and dissolve everything well.
  • Once the milk has boiled for a while (the longer it boils, the more flavor of cinnamon and lemon it will have), remove the cinnamon and lemon peel and add this to the sugar-cornstarch-milk mixture and mix well.
  • Return to the saucepan and over medium heat, stirring constantly, let it thicken.
  • Pour into a container and let cool. Once the dough is cool, turn it out onto the countertop or cutting board, or leave it in the mold to cut.
  • Cut into squares or diamonds or desired shape. Dust with flour, dip in beaten egg, and fry in oil on both sides until golden.
  • Remove and let drain. If desired, once the pieces are drained and slightly cooled, coat them in sugar.
