Jam Tart

This tart is delicious and very easy to make; you will surprise your family with its rich flavor, as the red fruit jam and orange zest give this dessert a special touch.

  • 250 grams red fruit jam
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 240 grams flour
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 150 grams butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

  • First, make the dough by mixing the flour with sugar and incorporating the butter in small pieces and the lemon zest. Mix well with a pastry blender.
  • Once we have the homogeneous mixture with the small pieces of butter, add the egg and yolk, and mix well. Form 2 balls and let them rest for one hour in the refrigerator wrapped in plastic.
  • After this time, roll out the dough to .5 cm thick and place it in a tart pan. Roll out the other half and cut it into long strips 1 cm wide.
  • In a saucepan, mix the jam and lemon juice, heat slightly, and let cool. Once cool, spread it over the dough in the pan and cover with the strips of dough to create a woven pattern.
  • Place in a preheated oven at 350º F and bake for about 25 minutes until lightly golden.
