This recipe is the favorite of my whole family among all the muffin recipes I have made; it is the standard muffin recipe, just slightly modified with ingredients that enhance the flavor.
Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Prepare the muffin or cupcake liners.
Mix the milk with the juice and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
Melt our 150g of dark chocolate along with the butter using a double boiler.
Remove from heat and let cool.
In another bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda. Set aside.
Using a spatula, beat the chocolate and butter mixture with the sugar. Then add the eggs, milk, vanilla, and finally, using a spatula, fold in the flour.
Add the large pieces and the caramel chips.
Divide the batter into the molds, filling them at least 3/4 of the way full.
Bake for about 25 minutes.
