  • Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  • For the dough, in a bowl mix the flour with the vinegar, water, butter, sugar, oil, and salt. Rub with your hands until all the ingredients are combined and a sandy dough is obtained. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Place the dough on a clean, floured surface, and using a rolling pin, roll it out and place it in a pie dish, ensuring that the dough is well adhered to the mold. Prick the dough with a fork and refrigerate while preparing the filling.
  • Peel the apples using a peeler, core them, and cut 4 pieces into moderately thick slices. Cut the other 6 into very thin half-moons for decoration.
  • Place the apples in a bowl; mix with refined and brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Drain the apples and reserve the liquid. Arrange the apple slices at the base, then form a rose with the half-moons on top. Bake the pie for 50 minutes covered or until the crust is well cooked, remove from the oven and let it rest.
  • For the caramel, heat a small pot over medium heat with the liquid you reserved from the marinade and cook until it turns into caramel, then add the heavy cream and cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Drizzle the pie with caramel, decorate with powdered sugar, mint, and serve with vanilla ice cream.
